The date of this recording has circulated under several different listings, including 15 September 1984 and 14 November 1986. However, 13 October 1985 is currently considered the most likely date.

One piece of evidence is that a separate recording of Hopeless, attributed to the 1984 date, sounds entirely different and appears to come from another concert. The song itself also belongs to the earlier Seaside-era repertoire.

Additional evidence comes from audience conversation during the introduction. A member of the audience mentions having previously seen Cardiacs at "the Imperial", probably referring to Imperial College London. The exchange is transcribed in the accompanying information file as follows:

Phil: You've seen 'em before? ??? Imperial?

Taper?: Well I saw 'em at the Imperial, yeah

Phil: I was there. I'm Phil by the way.

Taper?: Pleased to-I'm ?????. Pleased to meet you, Phil.

Cardiacs played Imperial College twice in 1985, and this Clarendon show took place nine days after the second of those appearances.

The recording is boomy but remains highly enjoyable, with frequent audience conversation adding to the atmosphere. The Whole World Window fades out during its outro.

Cardiacs appeared on the same bill as Tenpole Tudor.
