Cardiacs appeared at Club Dog on a shared bill with The Dave Howard Singers.
This is the first of two recordings made by Wiggon that surfaced in early 2023. The sound is slightly weaker than the second recording, but remains an enjoyable listen overall.
There is noticeable crackle in the left channel throughout parts of the tape. The setlist is typical of the period and contains no unusual selections.
The date remains uncertain. The cassette itself was undated, and 24 October 1986 was inferred because this was the closest known Club Dog performance to the later Fetcham recording also taped by Wiggon.
